ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Kseniya Tsoy is Toronto's very own visual artist who was born and raised under the bright sun of the Fergana Valley, the beating heart of Uzbek traditions and culture. Growing up among centuries-old crafts, bustling bazaars, and the irresistible flavors of Central Asian cuisine, she developed a deep love for community, storytelling, and, of course, a perfectly brewed pot of tea.

A true Uzbek at heart, Kseniya has a magical ability to turn strangers into friends—usually over a steaming plate of home-cooked plov or a passionate debate about the undeniable superiority of Uzbek watermelons. When she’s not hosting lively gatherings, she’s out chasing her endless curiosity for cultures around the world—one story, one shared meal, and one adventure at a time.

Kseniya is a Space Award Winner. The Newcomer Space Award is a partnership between Toronto Arts Foundation’s Neighbourhood Arts Network and Akin. This award focuses on providing affordable shared studio and/or exhibition space to newcomer professional artists who are past recipients of our Newcomer Arts Access Award (formerly known as RBC Arts Access Award). This award not only provides funding and space essential for professional artists to grow their practice, but also supports artists in growing their network through the shared studio space model.
