This webpage is for current Akin members to help navigate their Pickspace account.
Getting started
You should have gotten an email from Akin with the subject "Welcome to your Online Akin Account". If you did not receive that email please check your junk mail and if you still do not see it please let me know.
The email will have a link to open your online account for the first time with a temporary password. If you are having trouble logging in the first time try manually entering the password instead of copy and pasting, or if you copy and paste make sure you just copy the 8 character password, not a blank space at the end.
The main menu for Pickspace is along the left hand side of the screen. To view the full menu click the three horizontal bars on the top right of the screen beside the Akin logo. You can open and close the sidebar anytime so it is just icons, or icons with words.
The Sidebar contains the following menu items in this order from top to bottom:
Dashboard - your 'homepage' where you can see your open invoices, download the Pickspace app, or create a Ticket

Community
Through the Community section of Pickspace you can view and participate in a Community Feed message board with other Akin Members, and find out about upcoming Events. Other ways to engage with the Akin community include posting images of your artwork in the Gallery section, listing items or services For Sale, and adding posts to the Job Portal.
To access the Community feed select 'Community' from the sidebar. You will only be able to engage in the online Community if you make your Pickspace Profile ‘visible’ to other members. This does not happen automatically you have to adjust this setting yourself.
Make your Profile visible to the Community
Your profile is not automatically visible to other Akin members when you first join Pickspace. It is not obligatory for members to participate in this online community, but we do hope you choose to engage with your fellow I can members this way. To make your profile visible to other members select ‘My Profile’ from the sidebar. At the bottom of the screen you will see the words ‘Profile Visibility’ and beside that the word ‘Hidden’. Click the word ‘Hidden’ and use the drop-down menu to select ‘Visible’ then click ‘Save’. You can change this back to ‘Hidden’ anytime.

Select ‘My Profile’ in the sidebar and add info about yourself to your profile by selecting ‘Edit’ beside the words ‘About Me’. Edit the information then be sure to click ‘Save’. You can add your skills, a short bio, education, and a weblink. Location is set automatically to your Akin studio location.
In the top right corner you can also add your social media information if you would like to connect with other Akin members on other social media platforms outside of Pickspace. To edit your social profile, click ‘Edit’ beside the grey social media icons in the top right corner.
Here you can add links to your Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Google Plus, Github or Dropbox. You can also select a button that will make your email address visible to other members. If you would like this select the box that says 'Allow members to email me?' then select 'Save Changes'.

The Community Wall
Post on the Community Wall! Here you can engage with other Akin members. You can post to all members, or just members at your studio location. You can not reply directly to a post, or comment on it. If you are posting something and hoping for a response (example: looking for someone to collaborate with on a project) remember to include information in the post about how to get in touch.
It is a fairly limited platform, but it will evolve over time as members engage! We hope to continue adding more features to the Community wall over time.
Examples of things to post on the community wall:
Invitation to your exhibition, workshop, or other event.
Request for services or collaborators (ie looking for a carpenter)
Calls for submissions and other artist opportunities you think your fellow Akin members will be interested in.
Studio - specific notices (ie giving away or selling supplies or furniture)
Information about yourself! Share your art, weblink, etc so your studio mates can get to know you!
As with all Akin spaces, in person and online, you must adhere to the Akin code of Conduct. Any posts that violate the Code of conduct will be removed by Akin staff
Download the app!
You can engage in the Community Hub through a mobile app! Through the app you can view Akin member profiles for those who have set their profile to ‘visible’, view and add Team Members to your PIckspace account, the Community Feed, Job Board and Events listings as well as the ‘Offers and Perks’ for members.
