Blood, Milk & Tears - a group exhibition featuring new work by Fredelle Brief of Akin Lansdowne
You are invited to the launch of the new FENTSTER installation on International Women's Day to meet the Muslim and Jewish women who created artwork for Blood, Milk and Tears including Fredelle Brief of Akin Lansdowne.
A diverse group of women with backgrounds in visual arts, textiles, creative writing, music, photography and more came together to create a collaborative installation informed by a process of shared study of foundational Muslim and Jewish texts and deep reflection on the relationship between gender, embodiment, creativity and identity in both communities. Women’s experiences of menstruation, breastfeeding and mourning in their traditions are central to the creation of Blood, Milk and Tears.
Exhibition runs FEBRUARY 23 – MAY 24, 2017
OPENING EVENT | Wednesday, March 8 | 7 – 9 PM | FREE
