Collectively Speaking: Take Shelter
July 16, 2013. 7:00pm – 10:00pm
The Gladstone Hotel | Melody Bar
1214 Queen Street West
Toronto, like every major city, is home to a number of seemingly
unsolvable problems. But as creative individuals we think, given the
chance, we could be a leading force for positive change.
Collectively Speaking brings together three of Toronto’s most
interesting art, and design collectives to engage in a friendly
competition to offer innovative solutions to one of Toronto’s most
elusive problems: housing.
The cost of living is very high, and
on an average income it is difficult to afford reasonable housing in the
city. This is a problem that is not unique to Toronto, and is very much
the reality in a number of Canada’s major metropolitan centres.
What can be done to ease the burden of living in a major metropolitan area?
Participating Collectives:
Come to this event to
take part, not only as a spectator, but also to cast your vote during
this alternative town hall meeting, hosted by Kaleb Robertson. The
winning collective will have the opportunity to implement their
solution on the Gladstone Hotel’s Lower Green Roof.
